Jeffrey, M.D.

Dr. Jeffrey W. Bunning earned an undergraduate degree in chemistry and pre-medicine from Ohio University, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received his medical degree from West Virginia University with the distinction of being elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He remained at WVU and completed an internal medicine internship, as well as an ophthalmology residency while serving as Chief Resident.

Since finishing his residency, Dr. Bunning joined Mountain Empire Eye Physicians’ team of comprehensive ophthalmologists in 2003. His clinical interests are cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, diabetes, and retinal diseases, with a specialty in small-incision cataract surgery. Dr. Bunning is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Bunning resides in Bristol, TN, with his wife and their two children.
